The most crucial part in the game is to learn to serve in tennis. In most situations, when anyone is a beginner in the game of tennis, they always have awful serves. It is important to learn to serve in tennis because this is the main key in tennis. The serve has a very important role in the game since it puts a tennis ball into the game. In addition, having a steady serve can help to increase your chances of winning a match. In tennis, there is a common saying which summarizes the concept of a serve in tennis. The saying states that ‘one mistake is called a mistake but when the faults are two that is a crime.’

As usual, an opponent will be expecting you to make a fault in the first serve, so you may catch them unaware if you put the first serve to the play. This will also preserve your energy since you will not be required to make another serve, which could mean a difference between defeat and victory in a five-set long match. A serve must not only go into the court, but must also be adequately speedy such that the receiver doesn’t have a chance of making a simple kill. The serve should be placed in such a way that it gives the player an advantage during the next return by making the receiver to put the ball into the play. However, your serve cannot become better on its own; it is obvious that you must practice if you really want to learn to serve in tennis.

Below is a small and quick guide that I wrote and if you put it into practice, it will help to improve your serve.

Step 1: The Grip
There are so many techniques that you can use to learn to serve in tennis, but I would recommend the “continental grip” for beginners. However, if that technique does not feel right, you can use the back-hand grip which is different from the continental grip.

Step 2: Stance Body Movement
During a serve in tennis, many body parts are in coordination. However, if you want to get a better serve, you must maintain a still body posture. Make sure that your focus is on the ball swing and ball contact.

Step 3: Toss
If you really want to learn on how serve in tennis, a player must learn how to throw the ball. You should practice how to toss the ball on the right spot every time. The racket is extended upwards to help you locate the correct spot. The right spot is located above the racket’s top frame.

Step 4: The Hit
The player should straighten the legs to be able to propel upwards and to drop the racket head. While the racket accelerates towards the ball, the player’s shoulders must uncoil to transfer energy to your hand from your trunk and legs.

Step 5: Follow Through
Try to maintain a loose arm and allow the arm to end naturally while you prepare yourself for the return of your opponent. That is why it is important to learn to serve in tennis, because if a player pulls down this arm sooner than will always hit the serves to the net.

The following tennis serving techniques are the most important techniques you must developed in order to become a professional tennis player in a short period of time.

1. One of the very first tennis serving techniques involves having self confidence: This may tend to be difficult the first time round especially if you are repeatedly slamming the ball in the net or in the subsequent court. If you lack the confidence for tennis serving technique, then you will defiantly not be in a position to. This sheds light on the idea that once you start out on the negative, then it means that you will have to put in more effort in changing the negative mind to a positive mind. In that case, why should you not start in confidence: it saves up on time which you would have otherwise used to mentally overcome your negativity.

2. The secret is tossing: Tennis coaches stress that tossing is the most important aspect in a tennis serving technique. Since it starts out the process of serving, it is evident that when your toss becomes errant, the serve also becomes errant too. Ensure that the toss is kept high enough. In case you discover that the serves are going long, then the chances are that the toss is very low. To make sure the ball goes to the court, you are required to hit the ball down and this is not possible if you toss low. When your toss is low it means that you are hitting straight to the ball rather than downwards and thereby aiming the ball far and also out rather than down and nearer.

3. Make sure that the knees are bent: This is one of the most common tennis serving techniques. If you do not bend the body, then the strength strictly comes from the upper body. The much required power and strength is from the lower part of the body. By bending the knees, you are able to put the whole body into a swing rather than letting your serve become entirely arm motion. The racquet should drop down to your back. You can picture it as though you are scratching on the lower back using the racket. The lower the racquet goes the better the serve; by this way, if you extend the arm, you will gain more strength because the arm has had ample time to gather momentum as it is rising to the point of contact.

4. Snap, snap hard: This is one of the tennis serving techniques that should be done in the same manner as you would snap the fingers on an interesting song. Rather, the wrist should be snapped hard. This gives room for the racket to take a good downward swing which is required in a great serve. If you do not make the snap hard, the racket will not be able to make contact in good time or as hard as required and no doubt the ball will have a long sail. Ensure that the wrist is snapped in a clear, crisp motion to make it more effective.

5. Follow through: The serve you make does not end the moment the tennis racquet comes into contact with a tennis ball. The case is similar to resolution found in a novel of fiction: the story cannot end when it gets to the climax, in the same way a serve cannot be ended when it meets the ball on the point which is highest. Ensure that the arm is following through once the ball makes a take off. The racket must end across the body but on the other side of the arm that is serving to ensure that you have applied the tennis serving techniques effectively.

A server initiates the beginning of each point and the game begins immediately the ball is hit, hence necessitating an understanding of tennis serve rules. In order to serve, you will be required to stand on the exterior of the court at the rear of the baseline where you will require to position yourself at a point between the sideline of the single’s and court’s center mark ( picture that it stretches the entire way to the court’s rear). However, a majority of players opt to stand near the court’s center mark to ensure they are capable of quickly getting to the tennis court’s center ready for a return.

Simple Serve
The first tennis serve rules are to let your concentration be on hitting the ball to go beyond the net to the serving box. Once this can be consistently done, you should start reflecting on where your serve should be placed in order for a tactical benefit to be gained. Your focus should be on where the ball is intended to go besides aiming your racket in this direction. Think in regard to the weaknesses of your opponent and if for instance you are aware of their weakness in backhand, serve to this court’s position. However, mix it up here otherwise being too predictable will lead you to give.

1st and 2nd Serves
Other tennis serve rules to consider during the 2ns and 1st serves is that for your serve to get in, you require two chances, so you have the capacity of taking additional risks with the first attempt. The time for having a go at playing to the weaker side of the opponent is during the first serve, despite your lack of prowess in this serve direction. You can alternatively attempt winning a point in a single shot through a more powerful shot that carries additional slice (tomorrow’s guide will have more regarding this). If you are however faulty on your 2nd point, your opponent will receive a point. Due to this, 2nd serves are considered to be typically more precautious.

The Serving Direction
When serving, it is possible to aim for 3 broad areas in the serving box: down their middle, in their body and out wide. If your serve is directed to the court’s exterior, moving out wide will be required of your opponent. This will lead to an opening up of court space for a return and if they are incapable of getting the ball, it means you have surpassed them and hence won the point. Stick by the baseline immediately after serving and keep in mind getting into a ready position in the quickest means possible. Good serving entails keeping the opponent guessing, hence the need to equally hit certain serves downwards through the middle to ensure that the wide serves are more effective.

Serve-Volley
The serve-volley is another option for serving and this aggressive tactic puts your challenger under pressure. Serve to the service box’s middle to aid in avoiding an angle to be given to the opponent before charging towards the dividing net. Your knees should be kept bent while your eyes should remain on the tennis ball when you reach the net and this is all inclusive of the tennis serve rules.
